Stephanie Layfield is a training specialist for technicians, dealers and managers who want to increase their expertise and impact in the water treatment industry. Stephanie brings a unique perspective and style to highly technical topics making them easy to understand at any level of experience. Her refreshing approach has made her a sought-after speaker, online educator and consultant for water treatment companies. With EcoWater Systems, Stephanie has developed a more detailed approach to training content development using some of the latest techniques and adult learning principles. In 2024, Stephanie worked closely with industry veteran Bob Duitsman to grow into the position of lead instructor for EcoWater University.

Stephanie inherited a passion for the water treatment industry from her father and grandfather, making her a third-generation water treatment expert. She attended Texas State University where she majored in Aquatic Biology and minored in Chemistry. Stephanie currently serves as a board member for the Texas Water Quality Association (TWQA) and multiple committee member for the national Water Quality Association (WQA). She was named the Outstanding Young Person of the year by the TWQA in 2021 and TWQA Woman of the Year in 2022.

Ben Gertz is a seasoned learning and development professional with 15 years of experience, specializing in adult learning. He has played a pivotal role in building North Star College and the facilitator led training we are so proud of! Outside of his professional endeavors, Ben is an avid disc golfer and guitar enthusiast, combining his passion for the sport with his dedication to personal and professional growth.
